Installing high-performance rotogravure printing machines and laminators to meet ever-increasing demand for quality in high-variety, small-lot production

Y.N

Our companies have been partners for quite a long time since your company first installed one of our rotogravure printing machines in 1978. Please tell us what led to you recently installing another printing machine.

K.K

Since we installed one of your rotogravure printing machines in 1978, all of our printing machines and laminators have been FUJI KIKAI KOGYO products.
At that time, we needed to handle our increased sales quantity due to an increase in new purchasers, as well as respond to user needs for high-variety, small-lot production. We decided to install printing machines and laminators from FUJI KIKAI KOGYO for their high workability and productivity, as well as their ability to meet ever-increasing demand for quality.
Another big reason was that you have a plant in the same prefecture as us, allowing for swift response in maintenance for equipment failures or the like.

S.N

You have actively installed the latest equipment, including product specifications to meet needs or to increase speed.

K.K

In order to meet higher printing needs, our veteran technicians instruct craftsmen who spend their days striving to reproduce delicate coloring. In the past, we had some concerns, including the tension control or length of adjustment time for printing machines, or with laminators, uneven coating amounts for width and flow directions, as well as uneven nip roll pressure when coating with adhesive or laminating. However, I feel that since we installed FUJI KIKAI KOGYO’s latest equipment, we have become more able to meet customer needs.

Meaningful exchange of information between corporations strengthening the advice and know-how for equipment improvement

Y.N

In the many years you have used our products, was there any event that left an impression on you in particular? What was it?

K.K

For both the printing machines and laminators, all units have been installed since the first version, so I feel that we have built an even closer relationship. We have given your company feedback on know-how for processing condition settings by material in order to fully utilize the equipment as well as responses to carry out on the equipment in the event of poor quality, while your company has given us advice about how to maintain or modify the equipment. It is a meaningful exchange of information.

Environmentally-friendly and co-existing with the local society Supporting not only small lots but also automation (laborsaving) in the future

S.N

Ikeda Corporation, Ltd. also actively uses environmentally-friendly devices.

K.K

For security and safety-oriented development, we not only ensure thorough foreign material contamination prevention, tests, and inspections, but in terms of our equipment, we have also installed VOC treatment facilities based on the Air Pollution Control Act. Regarding FUJI KIKAI KOGYO’s products, we have installed the non-solvent laminator which uses adhesive free from organic solvents. In this way, we aim to be environmentally friendly. For the non-solvent laminators, I expect that there will be increasing demand for machines with even higher accuracy for coating uniformity and a wider scope of applicable materials, so I am looking forward to seeing your development and proposals.

Y.N

With technical skills cultivated over many years and extensive equipment, you seem poised to continue stable development into the future.

K.K

With regard to food packaging, the needs for short delivery times, small lots, and various types of products are increasing more than ever before. I heard that printing machines specialized in increased operating rates, small-lot support, labor-saving, and automation have gone on sale, so I am looking forward to them.
